Its been awhile
It has been a long time since I have posted, but needed to share with fellow members who could understand.
Saturday - I went to Lawrence and Memorial hospital (remind me to never go there again) for stomach pains. The pain was so horrible that I just couldn't make it to Bridgeport to see Dr. Floch. They did a CT scan, no contrast (not in the medical profession but to me thats a waste of time) and couldn't see anything. They sent me home and told me it was Diverticulitis or Adhesions. Two totally different ends of the spectrum.
Sunday - Went to work for a little while (1 hour) but pain was so intollerable that I went home and crashed on the couch. Hubby made me promise to call the Dr. office on Monday.
Monday - Went to work for a little while (2 hours) called Dr. Floch's office. Knew I wasn't feeling good when I told the customer to have a Merry F'ing Christmas and she could take her chocolate and shove it. That one should be fun to go back to. I had L&M fax the CT scan to Danielle and she had Dr. Ehrlich look at it. They couldn't see anything but gave me two options. Go to the ER in St. V's, or wait until Tuesday to be seen in Norwalk. I took option 1. Stayed at St. V's ER for over 8 hrs. Got a CT scan, this time with contrast and was told by 3 residents that everything I put into my body is backing up into the old stomach. GREAT!!! They called Dr. Ehrlich and because the drive home was so far, they admitted me. How sweet are they???
In the meantime, I haven't pooped since Sunday. Keep that in the back of your mind.
Tuesday - Scheduled to have a bowel series and upper GI. Guess what? Can't do it because the contrast is still in my old stomach and they can't see anything. Back upstairs to the room with the little old lady (90) who just had to have cancer removed from between her eyes.
Still no poop
Wednesday - Had an enema, an old fashioned one at that. Scheduled to have a bowel series and upper GI. Guess what, contrast still stuck and no Xrays. Back to the room with the little old lady. They are finally letting me go to stage 1.
Still no poop
Thursday - Dr. Ehrlich came in this morning and asked if I had pooped. Nope no poop. He gave me Milk of Magnesium, Calcium Citrate and Miralax. No poop. As sweet as they are, they sent me home for Chritmas, and I have to go back on Tuesday for all the rest of the tests. I better have SHI&*&^ by then.
Hubby is so supportive, he's worried, but still knows that I made the right decision to have the surgery.
Just wanted to share with all of you and wish you all a Merry Christmas.
