Can anyone spell mania. I feel manic. I suffer from insomina. I planned to sleep through the weekend. This was the defense mech i was going to use to get through the liquid diet. This did not happen at all. I took two pain pills as perscribed eventhough my pain has subsided for the most part and two perscribed sleeping pills. I took a nice shower and by all accounts had a great busy day and weekend. I thought i was excited but this seems to be much more. I am frustrated and tired. This bothers me. I will call Dr. E in this am. I will be in a state of phycosis (sp) if I stay up for 48hours. I am not worried about the surgery at all. Could it be that my strong personality is blocking out fears that are really there?

Hey there Ms. Z, I could tell you that from my own experience I was the SAME!! I also think these feelings that you are having are quite normal ( except for the Psychosis part..haha) I think it's "normal" to have fears even if we are "strong warrior women" ( that's for you Towanda!) I'll be sending good thoughts your way today! Try to relax as much as you can. Just a few more hours and it'll all be worth it~ Talk to you later! Christine

Joann: Christine is right! Even warrior women (which we all are!) get nervous. Consider this... perhaps you are just plain EXCITED! Kind of like the night before Christmas as a child? Try some breathing techniques. Try this... find a 2 syllable word. (mine is RELAX) When you lay down begin to slowly breathe in and say RE when you breathe out say LAX. all in your mind... not outloud. soon you will get a quite pattern of deeper breathing going and may be alble to just let your mind relax a bit to enter that wonderful and much needed slumber state. quite possibly, you will be calmed a bit and find that you fall asleep. Can't hurt to try, right? T.

hey... is your dr. E dr. Ehrlich? if so he's the best! i just had the full bypass done and i couldn't be more pleased. as for the insomnia it seems mine is a delayed reaction. i'm on a high from all the weight i've already lost and the reast i'm going to lose. i just dosen't seem possible that my dream goals are finaly going to come true. sorry about the insomnia, but if it makes you feel better i'll be up with you too. lol
