fat liver
Well I went to Dr. E today for my quiz and to sign paperwork. I have been on liquids and one meal of Special K. Needless to say I am starving. He told me my liver was really fat. I felt like a failure. I quickly got my thoughts together and asked myself did i do my best. Well surgery is still 12/19 at 7:30. I am so excited.
Christine has been the best angel. I am going to get blood work done in the am.
I also scored a 100% on my quiz.
Keep me in your prayers.

Joann-
Don't sweat it- I also had a fat liver. Please don't feel like a failure- you are taking a huge step in just a few days and you need to have your mind and spirit in the right place. You'll do GREAT
Good luck with the bloodwork tomorrow- you know I'll be thinking of you and praying for the person drawing your blood ( that he or she is a calm and understanding person..haha) Nice job on the quiz- you deserve a bonus point!
As you know, you'll be on the top of my prayer list!
Christine
Like Christine said, don't sweat it. All obese people have a fatty liver. It's cause we're so freaking fat! That will shrink away when you lose all of your weight. Once you're on all protein, the fat will melt away. The reason they have you do the fast is they want some of that liver fat to go away now so that it's easier to look and work inside you, cause the liver is right there in the way.
So, when you're thinking that you're hungry and wishing you could eat and blah, blah, blah, remember that this is FOR YOU and GOOD FOR YOU and the surgeon to have a better look see at what he's doing on surgery day.
Get out and walk, walk, walk, too. It also helps to rid the body of some of that fat and will help promote better healing. Plus, it helps get you ready for all the walking you'll have to do post op and get the jitters out!
Can you drink protein shakes now? If so, drink some everyday. The more protein, the better fat shrinking and better healing after surgery..it's proven!
Don't question yourself. Just do the best you can do! And, here's wishing you good luck and a successful, uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery! You'll be SO happy once you're on the loser's bench and when you are a BIG LOSER! I love to say that...it's the only time when it's great to be a big "L"!
