I was curious where there were other support groups for people just out of surgery?I know Saint Raphael's Hospital has them, but are they anywhere else?

At Norwalk Hospital we have two monthly peer-to-peer support group meetings that are free and open to all bariatric patients, their families, friends and significant others (other, to be honest, it's almost always just post-ops). These meetings are not affiliated with any particular surgical program-- in fact, over the years, we've had guests from programs throughout the state. We try to encourage one another as we struggle, share in one another's joys and try to leave each meeting having learned a little something from our peers. Our meetings start at 6 p.m. in the First Floor Volunteer Conference Room and are held on the FIRST WEDNESDAY and the THIRD MONDAY of every month. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

They are held all over the state- tell us what towns are convenient for you and I'm sure you'll find one not too far away. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR UPCOMING SURGERY BTW! We all wish you the best of luck and a speedy recovery.
