Have they done blood work on you since surgery? Stay on top of your B12 Hugs, Chrissy

Nope, not once. And the funny thing was I had to go in for shots before surgery since I was dangerously low, and I have to take supplements too now. No bloodwork at all since my surgery on 2-1 has been done. But from what I'm learning about my surgeons office its not surprising. I have an appt at my regular PCP soon for a physical. So I will have it ordered there as usual. Good call, thanks! Bree

If his office doesn't order it... make sure you have your PCP do it at least yearly. You prob. should have had it done at 6 months out and now at almost a year out. I am angry at your doctors office for not being there for you. Please stay on top of them because post-op care is just as important as pre-op. Hugs, Chrissy

Just a thought - I never had blood work ordered either - but I think the protocal is different for bands and rny - bands don't have the malabsorbtion issues because nothing is bypassed....I'm not sure if blood work follow up for banded patients is a standard practice?

I totally understand that. My reason for being so worried on Bree is that she was lacking B12 pre-op and B12 is an issue for post-ops. It is very important for them to be on top of that and make sure she is okay. Hugs, Chrissy
