Good Morning All,
I have taken my first step. Last night I attended a Bariatric Surgery Seminar in Milford. My BMI is a little low to be covered without any other medical issuses (38, Im 5"10:). My next step is going to my PCP and see if he will write the letter. I went into the meeting with the Lap Band being my method of choice but now am considering RNY. Can anyone who has had LAP BAND tell me of their results, my fear is that they are not as good as RNY
God Bless
Deb
Congrats on your first step! I didn't have a lap band but there is a forum here on OH that may be able to offer you a bit more info.

Good luck!
Hi Debbie!
I was a post op patient at the meeting on Monday!
I was the one called "Sandy".
Did we speak?
Banders are equally successful as bypassers. The journey is a bit different, but I have witnessed many banders lose a significant amount of weight. It is doable. I think you need to see what fits your lifestyle and personality. They do have different aftercare. Feel free to email me to talk about my experience with the bypass.
Good luck with our journey.

Good Morning
Thanks for the reply
I am bad with names, I recall all the post op patients vividly, where you the dark haired on the left ? or the women standing next to the gentleman ? I was in the front on the right (looking from the back of the room) I was in a business suit and asked SO many questions I finally apoligized to Dr. E... (colonoscopy question, drinking coffee, any medical conditions that could not be diagnosed in the future....etc :)
I am almost grateful that my insurance makes me wait 6 months as I am so unsure about this, I have been praying and praying and hoping to hear an answer.
I feel that because I have no medical conditions per-say, other than out of breath, that I am being to vain. I have such an addiction to food thou, it's out of control
