Good Morning! I had my visit with Diana, the nutritionist at Dr. Nadzam's office and she gave me the 5 Day Protein Diet. Does anyone have any ideas or tricks that worked for you during this time? Thanks! Tina

Hi Towanda, I am a candidate for the lap band. This diet is part of the screening process for all WLS candidates. It is for compliance. At the end of the 5 days, you are tested for ketones. It was emphasized in the literature to do this only under medical supervison so I don't think I should post the entire diet. But basically, it is consists of protein, broth and unlimited fluids for 5 days. Did you have to go through anything like this during your screening? Tina

Hi Tina! I had to do that diet also! I just used deli sliced Turkey, Roast Beef, and Frozen shrimp . Weighed them and added them to my cup of chicken or beef stock. I used little glad containers and made a few meals at a time! You wil be suprized how full you feel, not to mention the weight you lose during those 5 days. Follow the rules! This is more a test of will power than anything else. Good Luck! P.S. Eat with a dessert spoon. Make the meal last! good training there too!~

I knew it was just for the 5 days so I knew I could handle it. It's very boring and I did get tired of protein but like Julio said it is a test of will power and to see if you can follow the RULES. Because with this surgery the RULES are very important and must be followed in order to succeed!! Good Luck. Koukla 338/186/?
