...UPDATE...& still PO'd
Well here's an update.....
Honore (APRN) finally called me back yesterday and just acted like nothing was wrong what so ever. I was like I have been trying to reach you guys for literrlay like 2 wks. She was like OH ????? I went over the whole story with her. Know what she said....well the secretary is just inendated with phone calls for the Dr to call them back. EXCUSE ME! He is the freaking surgeon right ?????? GOSH !!!
I asked her what do we do now. She said well that's why I didn't want to send you for the upper GI. She said its not the most sensitive test you can have. She said liquid is supposed to go right through the band. Its liquid. She said I think you need an endoscopy. I was like if the fluid Is in the band and its in the right spot, and almost completely filled up, what could the problem be. Guess what she said.....mmmmm I'm not sure that's the thing. That's all this girl knows how to say.
She said I did just take all your stuff off Dr Barba's desk and looked at it all. OK so I had a test done last Monday that he hasn't even seen yet, and he got the results the same day !!! GREAT !!!
I was like so what now....she said well he will be in the hospital on Wednesday, but I am not sure if I will catch him long enough to go over this with him....she said my best bet will be on Thursday. She said I will try to sit down with him and discuss this and see what he wants done.
I said so basically you are telling me I "MAY" get a phone call back by the end of the week. She said that's what I'm thinking.
I just plain give up !!!
This absolutely DISGUSTS me that you would be treated so offhandedly. They should be ashamed of themselves. CLEARLY this Dr.s office doesn't give a crap about your problems. Just because you're not lying there in the office waiting room dying doesn't mean you don't deserve a modicum of attention. Time for a 2nd opinion. Good luck to you.
Hi Bree - Go ahead and give up on that office. You need to schedule an appt. ASAP to see another surgeon. Go to Dr. B's office and get your chart & medical information right then & there. They'll be able to make copies for you.
When you leave the office, go home and write a VERY LONG THOROUGH LETTER addressed to Dr. B personally. Tell him what you think of his staff, what you've been through and how unacceptable it is. Maybe he'll want to change things so that his patients are better accomodated.
Good luck. And get a new surgeon NOW!
