I AM JUST SO PO'D
Guess what.......I got no call back on Wednesday, or Friday, so 1st thing this am I called the doctors office again. The same damn secretary told me she gave him my msg. I told her I got no calls back and wanted to know if he was in the office today - nope, he's insurgery today. I asked the next time he was in the office, she told me Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Isnt that freaking fabulous. So my next "chance" of getting a return call is on Thursday. Are you kidding me. I asked if honore was in (aprn) she said yes she is back but she is with a patient now. She said I will look on his desk for your stuff to see if he gave it to her or what. I dont know. So I left yet another msg!!!!!!!!!! I have lost count how many that is.
I am just so mad..............I cant believe this. How can a doctor's office get away with this?
If I dont get a call back today from honore (since she is the one in the office) I am going to start making calls to people in charge at the hospital.
I do want to change surgeons I think, but why should I just go away. I want some answers from him!!!!!!!!! I am not just the crawl away type, and I will call the damn office 8x in a day if I have to. Someone will return my call !!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, I just had to vent.
Bree
Just because a surgeon is in surgery for that day, shouldn't mean that he lets the runnings of his office go amuck. I would think that he'd check in to see how things were going and if there was anything pressing that he had to take care of.
This just does not seem right...to me...
I know that Dr Aranow has "surgery" days, but will call Lois (his nurse) from the hospital and checks in if there's anything going on that she may need to fill him in on. She's actually called him in surgery and told him of things going on and he's made exceptions and saw patients. Me, for one. It was a Monday...he doesn't see patients on Monday, and I had spoke to him over the phone over the weekend and he prescribed meds, but wanted to see me in the office. I called the office and Lois called him in surgery and he told her to tell me to get my butt into the office when he'd be done and able to see me. He ran up to the office and saw me quickly.
Keep pressing them. Don't give up. Try to speak to the nurse and get some info to her. Maybe she can all him over at the hospital.
When you do see him in person or speak to him...make sure you make your displeasure known about how he treats his patients. It will be better to do it when you're one on one. If he's not told by his patients that they're pissed at him for how he does things, he can't change.
Good luck,
paula
Bree,
I am so sorry you are having trouble with your Dr.'s office. Hang in there. I agree with Paula, they should be more attentive to what is going on in the office. I had the same type of experience as Paula with Dr. A. It was his day off and he said get your butt in. If they don't start helping you there... you may want to see about getting a new Dr. Good luck!
Hugs,
Chrissy
Dr Aranow did the same thing for me- called me in between surgeries from the hospital...came back from a day filled with surgeries- JUST to see me- no one else- instead of just going straight home to the wife and kids. It's called RESPONSIBILITY. Some doctors understand their committment some don't. You know what to do Bree- but yeah- closure with your current one would be nice.
Bree -
I am begining to wonder about this guy. My surgeon actually came out between surgeries to see me when I needed him the most. Yours can certainly return a phone call, especially one that has been on his desk for days. Does he do surgery other than Bariatric - the docs usually have a surgery schedule and it is not every day!
I know you don't want to just walk away, but don't forget about you and your needs. If you really need to see another doctor, I would persue someone but at the same time follow through with yours.
I am sorry you are going through this, feel free to vent away, you certainly have every right! Keep us posted and good luck!
Hugs,
Nancy K
You have every right to concerned-- and you would be entirely justified in going to a different practice. Our surgeon (Ralph Crum) had no other surgeons practicing with him and he was in surgery at least three days per week-- yet, everyone got a return phone call. And, if you called with a medical problem and he wasn't available, you would be evaluated by a PA and then sent for any tests that would be needed. You deserve better treatment.
Thank you, thank you, thank you !!! to everyone for all of the support. Its been nice having people that understand you. Although my boyfriend is very supportive, he just cant understand why I am so upset since I am not in any pain or anything. I am like.....I have been through soooo much...appts....money...pre-op stuff....and to get where....NOWHERE. thats the crappy thing. I feel like I've done it all for nothing now.
Thanks again to everyone, youve all been great.
