Hello, I have a quick question that some of you may be able to help me with. Is it possible to lose to much weight?? I started my journey off weighing 422 pounds (YIKES!!) I am now weigh 174 pounds. My personal goal was 175 so.... I AM HAPPY However, my Dr. has suggested that I not lose any more weight. How do I stop?? I really am trying so hard to get in all my protein plus my much needed calories. I am in the process of trying to have a baby and I am getting really worried that I won't be able to maintain my current weight. Any suggestions other than seeing my nutritonist would be appreciated. I've seen her already and all she keeps telling me is to eat my protein and increase my calories. Believe me I am NOT complaining. I am just curious as to when the weight loss will stop. Thanks! Christine

hi Christine, I guess it depends on how tall you are. I'm 5'6" and I'm hoping to get to 150 to 155 pounds. I want to get as far away from 200 as possible. And even there the tables say I could go to 145 pounds. And from what I hear our bodies will automaticly stop losing. So I'm not worried about that. Koukla 338/187/? date of surgery 9/16/05

Thanks for your imput Koukla I am 5'5 so by the scientific standard I should weigh 138. However, because I have lost so much so fast a majority of the 174 pounds is excess skin. Eventually I will do plastics but right now my focus is getting pregnant and being healthy. I hope my body starts to slow down just a bit. I am thankful for each milestone I hit. I am blessed to be here today. Christine

Hi Christine my angelette! I am so very proud of you! You have done remarkably well and I understand your concerns. To bring the weight loss into a more mtce mode you will need to slowly introduce complex carbs. Whole wheats, brown rice, etc. Avoid processed and refined carbs like white bread/rice/crackers. Adding more veggies and fruits should start to make the body slow the weight loss and burn the energy in the carbs before going to its stored reserves. Introduce these things slowly and you should do fine. If you find the weight trend reversing, stop, reevaluate and try again. This is a journey of exploration and we each have to find our own way and most of it is trial and error. You will find what works for you, of that I am sure. Remember even when trying to slow the weight loss the pouch rules come first - Protein first, don't drink while you eat, etc...then add the complex carbs. Best of luck!!!! Big Hugs, Carla
