I tried to post last night, so i am not sure how long it takes to get on tho board, so here is a second shot. I am looking for anyone who has had Vertical Banded Gastroplasty. I would like some info on food intake and weight loss, i want to make sure i am doing ok. I am 4 weeks post-op. I had my sugery by Dr. Valin (by the way, i love him, his wife Debbie, and his office staff) on 10-16-06 - I am 20lbs down so far, but i haven't lost anything in 1 week according to my scale. I guess i could be obsessing.... but after going through all of this, i want to feel i have made the right choice. I know so many people who have had Gastric bypass with much sucess, i just hope i have favorable results too! thanks everyone...

Amanda: While I had the gastric bypass, I did find that at about the 1 month mark my body stopped losing for a bit... not long... (if memory serves me well, a week) it then kicked back in and I continued to lose. So give your body time to get used to the new changes you are making. And when comparing the procedures? I have found that if you work your tool, whatever one we get... it works. All the procedures are restrictive. And as Julio says all the time... It's the Journey. And time is on your side. A year from now, if you work your program well, you will look back and be feeling pretty satisfied with your progress. Good luck with your journey. Towanda
