POSTING ON BOARDS

Hi Kim, Your post to the other girl was inspiring to me whether it was right or wrong. I don't believe we should be seperated between RNY vs. lapband Vs. anything else we decide to do. It did my heart good to see someone who has had RNY being supportive of a potential Lap Bander. I can't remember if I posted anything to that person, but I probably should have, just haven't felt well enough. We are all here for the same reason, to become healthy and have a long life. One of the reasons I post here is because it doesn't matter what kind of surgery you have. Read some of the other boards, they are not as friendly and it does matter what kind of surgery you had. I have never felt that way here. Our main goal here is to support each other and you give lots of support and encouragement to everyone. If you go away, that means someone will be missing all the great support you give. Don't let that happen. Try not to take what others post to heart - I know it is hard, and easy to say. Let it go and be the great supporter you are. You have to know how much you are appreciated here. Just look at all the replies to your post. Take a deep breath and think about things. We will miss you way to much if you are not part of this board. Hugs, Nancy

EXCUSE ME!! DON'T YOU DARE LEAVE THIS BOARD AFTER I JUST GOT BACK!!! I have been a lurker for quite some time now. Kim you are the most supportive, kind, encouraging, loving, sensitive, person I have ever seen post on this board. It seems like some people got their dander up and could have been a little nicer in their comments. Everyone knows that you were giving your opinion based on your experiences. People who ask questions are looking for opinions to make their decision. After reading other peoples opinions and researching and TALKING TO THE DR is when they need to make their own decision. I don't think any of us proclaim to be experts in WLS. We are an opinion board and if someone does not agree with our opinion they can state their opinion in a non-combative way. Remember we are a family on this board and have to treat each other with respect! Sandy

Fine... It figures! You get a picture I like for your avitar, and you decide you are not going to post any more! OK...Let's get real about this. Don't let the b@$+@rd$ win. The purpose of this board is to provide help, support and information to all. Your experience alone should not be lost, or not available to others. Everyone has posted something wrong at some time or another. I've posted a drug list published in a WLS book, and argue with some of the things posted on that same list. Things change, each surgeon has their own "bible" which is right, and everyone has different experiences. It is part of the reason that there are odd of anything, not absolutes. Don't run away, and more than that, don't walk away either. Peter

Hey Kimmie, Can't add much more to what everyone else has said in support of you staying on the boards. It sure wouldn't be the same here without you. You know what they say when you fall off the horse, get right back in the saddle. Your opinions count here even if all don't agree. Sorry it wasn't a more peaceful exchange.. unfortunately sometimes that happens. We are all human. We should all feel comfortable coming here for advice as well as to express different points of view. This board exists to provide a place for us learn and to seek & offer support. The CT board has most always been a pretty healthy environment for that...and I am sure it will be for a long time to come. Hang in there baby! hugs, terri

Kim... You keep on being the kind, supportive, and caring person we all know and love!! Your reply to Joann's post was just meant to offer support to a newbie trying to make a decision...a decision that we all struggled with in the beginning. And your reply was NOT too far off the mark. The Lap Band CAN be removed and IS reversible. One of the women in our support group, who is actually my surgeons operating room nurse, recently had her Lap Band removed and had the gastric bypass. So don't you go anywhere kiddo!! You keep right on posting and offering your support in the sensitive, noncombative way that you do!! XXXOOO Kim K.

Hey Kim, I cant believe for one incorrect way of wording something how much friction I have caused. I never in a million years expected to cause such anger in some people. All I was trying to do was give some advice, next time I will be more careful on how I say things to anyone here. I felt so bad about the way this is making everyone react. Boy there are some angry people out there. Thanks my dear friend for always being so kind to me and supporting me no matter what, your a sweetie. Hope to see you again soon. Hugs KimC
