Hi Angel, I'm sorry I have no idea! My gyno is in Middletown and she's a pretty good gyno. As far as the gowns, if I'm not mistaken, they have gowns to fit larger people. I don't remember feeling uncomfortable at all. But, then again, I always expect the chairs to be uncomfortable and the gowns too small whenever I go to a doctor, so I can't really say for certain that the chairs & gowns are big enough. Plus, I've only been to her once and that was almost a year ago, so I don't really remember. Maybe contact Dr. A's office. He or his staff may know of someone. Another option would be to possibly visit a gyno whose office is located in the hospital. Wouldn't they have larger gowns? I think you should start by calling Dr. A's office. If they don't know, start calling OB offices. Ask them if they have chairs for larger people. If not, move on to the next. I would hope that you could find one. Good luck - I wish I could have been more helpful! Michelle

Hi, Angel! My OB-GYN is Dr. Leonard Zamore. He doesn't have an office in Hamden, but has offices in Cheshire and New Haven. I can't vouch for the Cheshire furniture, but I've had no problem with the furniture in New Haven. In the days before WLS when I needed a queen-size gown, all it took was a reminder phone call to be sure that they set aside one of their small supply of them for my appointment. (When I made the call, I was often told that they had already reserved one for me, but I'd make the call anyway just to be sure.) He's a warm, caring person (as are all of his staff members) as well as an excellent doctor who's respected by his peers. He also has a good sense of humor and never made me feel bad about being morbidly obese. He was very supportive when I made the decision to have WLS and also when I broke down crying in his office while I was going through my divorce. I've seen him ever since I moved to the New Haven area 17 yrs. ago. I chose him based on the recommendation of someone I knew who had 6 children (no multiple births). Since she obviously saw him much more frequently than once a yr., I trusted her opinion. The phone number for his Cheshire office is (203) 272-1688 and for the New Haven office is (203) 785-0265. There are other doctors in his practice, so if you call, be sure to specify that you want to see Dr. Zamore. Feel free to mention that I referred you. Debby
