I'm no longer afraid
Hi Everyone,
I have not posted on this site in close to a year. I was going to have surgery last January-ish, but chickened out and blamed it on money (although, it would have cost me $10K). Today, I am ready to go through with it. I have to attend the October 24th meeting @ Middlesex and then schedule an appointment with Dr. A again, but that's ok.
I may be getting married earlier than expected because my fiancees insurance could possibly cover this surgery at 100%, vs. my insurance which only covers it at 50%. We've been together 3 & 1/2 years, so getting married early really isn't an issue. It's very exciting to me that this could be covered at 100% and I don't have to worry about coming up with $10K.
Anyway, I'm so excited to be back and I can't wait to be on the other side. I love this site and reading your posts have really helped me to be brave and try this again.
Since I've dropped out of the circuit, I have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I'm 28 years old and I think I'm too young for this disease! Just another reason to go through with the surgery.
Thanks again to everyone who posts on this site. You are all such inspirations. I'm glad to be back!
Hi, Michelle! Welcome back! I remember seeing your name on here before, once upon a time. Congratulations on taking the first step of your new, healthier - and better - life!
(laughs) If you and your honey are looking to get hitched, my hubby and I are renewing our vows in Las Vegas on December 26th. Join us and we'll spring for the cost of the marriage license!

Congratulations! I would absolutely take you up on your offer , however, I may be getting married this Friday! When I say soon, I mean REAL SOON! The hubby-to-be and I have to chat a little more tonight and then I'll know for sure.
Congrats again - that is so awesome! How long have you been married?

WELCOME BACK!!!
I'm glad that you've put your fears aside and have decided to do this to better your life...you'll NOT regret it one bit! It's great!
I've missed you. I'll always remember going to the groups together and planning our WLS together last year. Now, I can help you on your journey! Want me to be your angel? I will if you say so...

Hey you Welcome Back!!! Getting married for the Health Insurance? I dunno- I married my husband for his furniture, and his cat. At the time I worked for the State and had better benefits. Now I STAY married becasue neither one of us want's full custody of the four kids on our own....oh well LOL- good luck stay in touch, and remember, it's all worth it in the end (marriage, gastric bypass, listening to Dr Aranow talk for two hours....)
Well, when Dr Aranow speaks, he's always has something new for me to hear..and it's always very informative...he's always learning, as we are...
I am married cause I want to be married...but, I "want" the insurance and hefty pay, new house and new cars cause it's all nice! The kids, they're our bonuses! Though I'd like to return them from time to time for a different bonus, like a weekend away without them! EVen sometimes a weekend away with just me, like last week's walk! Now I'm satisified and can tolerate it all again. Heck, I folded 6 loads of laundry last night that was sitting around for a week cause I was too stressed to fold it!
All said in jest....of course....I do have the perfect life....HA
