Barba, Tummy Tuck?

Anyone here or know of anyone that had a tummy tuck by Dr. Barba. I am very interested in speaking to anyone with experience. Thanks, Melissa.

Jessica had major plastics done by him, but somehow I am not sure she'd rave about him after getting canned.

Sorry Barba fans, but I must comment here. I have personally not met one person that has been happy with the results from this surgeon. My personal opinion, (please please see personal opinion I am not bashing) is if you want PLASTIC surgery, see a PLASTIC surgeon, of course certain surgeons will tell you they can get your insurance to pay for this, but please, there are many many complications that can arise from plastics even from a plastic surgeon but at least they are specialized in that area and have seen just about everything. Plastic surgery is very painful, in my case, I felt it was more painful than my original RNY. So please, investigate this like you did your RNY do all your research then make an informed decision. -Cheryl

Hi Everybody, I had Dr Goodkind as my plastic surgeon last July for tummy tuck and Breast Lift. Our Queen Carla have her post op support group meeting on Sept 28th where Dr goodkind will give lecture about Plastic Surgeon at St of Raphel Hospital at 600 pm. Hi Cheryl - I've noticed several times that you have mentioned your lack of faith in Dr. Barba and that is fine because everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just wanted to let you know that I am a patient of his and think he is a very good surgeon, so now you can have at least one reference point of a person who is happy with the surgery he performed (I also have 3 close friends who are happpy with their results from his surgery, 2 rny's and 1 other band). He is a well educated man and I did a lot of research on who was going to cut me open, trust me, I like myself too much to go to a proven hack. He's been in practice for many, many years. I'm not attacking you, but I just respect peoples reputations, and I also believe if a doctor, or a person in general deserves to be discredited then so be it. Oh and one more thing - I do agree that a plastic surgeons should be consulted in for plastic surgery - but some people feel very comfortable with their bariatric surgeons. I am not at that point in my journey yet so I'm not sure who I'd chose but I would certainly consult with both types of surgeons. Thanks, Tammy

Thanks Tammy-I agree with you, I feel if you are going for plastics then see a plastic surgeon. That's my main point. Your right that I have not PERSONALLY met anyone happy with their outcomes from Dr. Barba. I would also not go to my own surgeon for plastics. They are a different story completely. There are several very competent plastic surgeons in CT. I have heard of Dr. Goodkind Kathy and heard great things about him and Dr. Schrieber. As already said here, the point of this post is to say, go to a plastic surgeon for plastics and bariatric surgeon for bariatrics. There's just no reason not to go to a specialist. I'm sorry if I offended you now or in the past about your surgeon, I tried to preface my personal statement as much as possible.
