Banded my stomach, but not my head
not sure that the chills is normal- keep an eye on that- OK? But, thinking about food IS normal!! Our lived revolve around food in one way or another- so, it's to be expected.
I had RNY the week before Thanksgiving. I CREID AND CRIED while I watched all the chefs on Food Channel preparing their Thanksgiving feasts. I lamented the loss of food for the first few weeks, but especially THAT week.
It passes in time. Don't worry.
Good luck to you. Take it easy on yourself!
Best,

This time is probably the most important part of your "Journey" as you have to "Retrain " yourself as far as food go's. It is actually the hardest part as you get used to smaller portion sizes and breaking the relationship you have with food. Take yout time and reach out when you need help. Lots of folks here ready to listen and share experences. Take Care
Dear Laura,
First of all, congratulations on having your band placed; I have had mine for a year and just love it. It is the best thing I've ever done for myself - but you'll hear that a lot.
Are you running a temperature by any chance? If so, you may want to call your doc, just to cover the bases as your surgery was so recent. A squirmy tummy, etc... is pretty much par for the course as you have switched from solid foods to just liquids as you follow the guidelines. Sugary liquids, especially apple juice, could cause diarrhea too.
You have been through a lot this week, even if you don't think so, and having a band "installed" is a big adjustment. Take it easy, get plenty of rest and try and keep up your fluid intake. I find hot liquids, especially mint tea, very soothing and comforting.
Good luck! I wish you speedy healing and good band fortune.
Mary
