I think I flunked

There are medications for RLS. You should speak to your PCP about this if you haven't in the past. You sound like you have a really acute case of it and its going to be a problem that could get worse post op.
As for the sleep study people they sound ignorant and unsympathetic. Obviously if you can't sleep, you can't do a sleep study (duh) and I fail to understand how this is YOUR fault, if you have a condition such as RLS. I would have told them to shove it at that point.....
I appreciate your information. I do have an acute case of rls. It has now gone into my arms. I have had rls for 39 years. I have 2 kinds of meds for it. Sometimes, just nothing works. Last night was one of them.
Today, I spoke to the head of the dept and told him of my experience and how could insurance companies not pay for a sleep study cause you can't sleep. Especially since there's a recording of your every movement - both visually because of the camera and digitally because of the wires. He told me not to worry. So I won't.
The tech was extremely patient and kind. If he hadn't told me about the insurance, I would have walked out of there at 1:30 and not find out I owed until it was a done deal.
Do you have rls?
Thanks,
Linda
