Hi, everyone. I was just wondering if there are any open support group meetings up around the Bridgeport area. My surgeon's support group is located in Greenwich, but since moving up to Bridgeport, I have found it nearly impossible to make it down for the meetings (which are only held once per month). Thanks for any info you can provide! Jana

Hi Jana: Fairfield County Bariatrics, Dr's. Niel and Craig Floch and Tim Ehrlich, have support groups that meet twice monthly in Norwalk at Norwalk Hospital and twice monthly at St. Vincents in Bridgeport. Meetings in Norwalk are the first and last Tuesday of the month. I think the Bridgeport meetings are the 2nd and 3rd Tuesdays (not completely sure). The groups are a big help, hope to see you there! All the best, Bob

Hi Jana, There are several support group meetings in the New Haven Area if you are interested. The group at Yale meets the first Tuesday of the month and we hope to be starting a second meeting for long term post ops in the next couple of months. If you want any info on the Yale meetings please email me. All are welcome. There are also meetings at St. Raphael's and at the Hamden Library. Hope this helps. Linda

Thank you both for the information on meetings. I am going to try to make it to some at St. Vincents, since it is close to my house, and maybe the one at Yale as well. Thanks again! Jana

At Norwalk Hospital we have post-op support group meetings that are free and open to all. On the first Wednesday of every month, starting at 6 p.m. in the first floor volunteer conference room, we have a peer-discussion meeting. On the third Monday of every month, starting at 6 pm. in the fourt floor pediatric conference room (take the Tracey B elevator to the 4th floor Pediatric Administrative Offices), we have a peer-lead open meeting. These meetings are open to all, whether Norwalk Hospital patients or patients of other programs. Friends, family members and significant others are also welcomed.
