Funny Lake Compounce Story
A few weeks ago I came on the board all worried about a trip that I was taking with my daughter and husband to Lake Compounce.
All of you gave me the greatest advice and terrific words of encouragement. Well, I went on August 5th. It was a very sunny, hot but not humid type of day. We had Victoria (14months) in the stroller and walked to the company tents for lunch and then decided to get her in the water.
Well, she fell asleep during lunch and slept right up until we got to the water. She was so sound asleep that we didn't even have the heart to wake her up!!!! So, we just dangled our feet in the water with her sleeping in the stroller. We ended up just leaving, having decided that she was just too tired, too hot and too young to really enjoy the park.
So, all that worry and anticipation for nothing!!!! Well, next year, hopefully I will be a much more park friendly size and not have to worry about a darn thing...except keeping my child awake!!!!
Thanks for everything you guys!!!

Gina,
Someone (I can't remember who) always said, "The things we worry about most, are the things that never end up happening." It's SO true. I used to (sometimes still do, like having to fly on the 23rd) have terrible anticipatory anxiety and worry about "things to come" that I've stayed awake nights. Only to find out it all happens in a different way anyways.
I'm glad you at least to see LC anyways. I grew up there as a kid. It's a LOT different now from 40 years ago!

Hi Terri - My friend who lives in Bristol that I was supposed to go with just contacted me to tell me she can't make it - we changed it to go in early September - maybe the 1st. I would have loved to meet up with you and your beautiful daughters!
Hope you have a great time - it's supposed to be a beautiful day - we're going to head to Stanley Park in Westfield, MA instead - they have a fun show scheduled for the kids there............
Take Care!
