Help!

Hi Everyone, It is good to be back and catching up on the forum news. Kathy K.. Congratulations..you have done so amazingly well! Anyone have any info about a plastic surgeon? I am thinking about the next step and have no clue who is a good plastic surgeon in the state. I'm hoping to get back to the group meetings now that it seems things have settled down to a low rumble around here. Thanks in advance if you have any info for me. Hugs Pattie

Hi Pattie, A lot of Dr Aranow's patients go to Dr Borkowski in Middletown for their plastics. BUT, some also go down to Milford to Dr Goodkind. I think one has to interview many doctors before they find the right "fit" for them, just as we did for our WLS. Good luck, paula

Hi Patti, I'm also going to the next step & having a TT at the end of October. I've chosen a surgeon out of Enfield. She's extremely nice, has dealt quite a bit with WLS patients. Won't work on the face or arms. I find her very "calming" and have enjoyed my interactions with her. Very informative, answers questions, and very thorough with all the pro's/cons. I'll be getting liposuction done as well in my lower back upper bum region. There's alot of "solidified" fat that isn't budging no matter what I do for work outs etc. It's from carrying all my weight in that region for years. She'll be smoothing out my "lump" in that area. I'm very excited and honestly can't wait to see the end results. I can email you her info privately if you're interested. I'm lucky where I don't have to have any muscle reconstruction it's all intact. I am paying out of pocket so I can give you a round about $$ figure as well. Mickey

Hi Pattie Welcome back to Ct Message board! I have been met 4 different PS surgeons and I chose Dr Goodkind because he have alot of experiences with gastric bypass patients, he is so caring about his patients, is an excellent bed manners, is honest about pro and con about this surgery.What is so important is that he puts his time to check on me after I got home from hospital through email since I cannot talk on the phone. Whatever I have any problems about TT or breast lifts during my recoverythrough emails, he responded back to asnwer questions . I am very pleased with my results for my TT and Breast lifts. I am planning to go back see him to do arm lift surgery in end of 2007 . I listened what my heart tells me and I have see some of WLS people who had Dr Goodkind and they are very happy which are true! Good luck on your researching! Take Care Kathy K

I chose Dr. Charles Castiglione out of CT Surgical Group in Hartford, Ct (work out of Hartford Hospital). I would personally recommend him very highly. He is a very skilled reconstructive surgeon, which is important for people who have the kind of work that needs to be done like us. We're more than a nip/tuck situation! Anyway- he's def. worth booking a consultation with. He will also work with you on insurance. Be sure to seek several opinions- not just one- before you decide what you're doing and who you're using. All PS's have different approaches. Besdide manner is important too. Good luck to you. Lisa C
