Hi Bree...
What is the possibility of working another job?? My neighbor was in a situation where she needed health insurance because her husband's job wasn't providing it anymore. So she went to FedEx... part time, I think she only works like 15 hours a week but they give her and her family full health benefits (BCBS). I think UPS is the same deal. You may want to look into that, if it's something you can do. Two hours of work before or after your day job... for full benefits... not too shabby, if you can do it. Definately at least consider it!
Bree,
Hi, well, I'm sorry to say it, but not many insurance companies in CT will pay for anything anymore. I've heard that the fills are not to expensive, so you will hopefully be okay. I've been told for 3 mos that my insurance covered GB and my agent just told me he was wrong it isn't. BCBS changed everything as of Jan. 2006, unless, you a union worker or state worker. I did hear that CT care wasn't covering it anymore also. Everything else with my insurance is covered, just not the surgery, go figure. So, now i'm on a hunt for self pay and prices. I did try looking up individual plans and WLS is excluded from all of them. I've been racking my brain over this. I don't understand, something that helps so many people, and they just take it away like that. I wish you much luck.

OMG Bree that just sounds so unfair. How could they not cover an appointment with the surgeon? I would think they cover specialist visits..........
This is so f**&n stupid! It's like telling someone - well we don't cover pace makers any longer - sorry - you can't have maintenance on them either - too bad you have that device in your body - you're just SOL...........This sounds like a good case for an attorney.
You should be getting close to your sweet spot now so the fills won't be as frequent - you definitely don't want to get over filled to speed up the process because that would suck.
You should do a cost comparison of getting an attorney to fight this for you and how much your after care would cost out of pocket, it might be worth your while to get in touch with an attorney??
Hang in there Bree! I'm here if you want to talk, you have my number........
Sorry you have to deal with this crap - you've come so far - don't turn to food now because that won't make you feel any better. You'll figure something out, it will all work out in the end.
Warm Regards,
Tammy
