no weight loss
Please can anyone help me? I am two weeks post op and I am finding that my scale is not moving and today I went up 1 lb. What am I doing wrong? I am just today starting stage 4 I have been following the diet to a tea and have been drinking 50-70 ozs. of water a day.
Does anybody have an answer for me beside staying off the scale?
Hi Camille,
I don't post here often, just happened to drop in and see no one had answered you yet.
Please don't worry. Several things are happening right now. Your body is trying to adjust to the major change you made to it, plus now you are adding solids and they take a bit longer to "leave" you, so to speak. Most people usually have this happen between 3-5 weeks, but it does happen sooner. You are just fine, this surgery WILL work for you and save this post and read it on your one year anniversary. It will give you a great chuckle
Good luck and just relax and enjoy the ride

Hi Camille- no secret to staying off the scale, I'm in the same boat. I'm 4 weeks post-op as of today and for the last 2-3 weeks the scale has been up/down the same 3 pounds. I was getting frustrated to say the least! But this week the numbers have started to go down each day, so I have restored faith in the process! I absolutely agree that our bodies are playing catch-up here, I bet if I measured I would find that I lost alot of inches during the last 2 weeks- clothes that were tight are now slightly big, so that's been my gauge during this time. I have a follow up with my surgeon today, so we'll see what his scale says. I'm not sure that it will be down all that much, and that's ok... but I know that I'm losing something based on the way my clothes feel.
It's so hard to keep off the scale, I sympathize. Maybe try taking your measurements and go by that when you hit a bump in the road. I'm going to measure tonight and I'm sure I'll be surprised at the number of inches lost, rather than the pounds.
Best wishes to you!
Lisa
Camille,
This is your angel here. Dont fret over the weightloss yet. You still have alot of excess fluid since the surery. Give it time and you will see the weight start to come off soon. Your not doing anything wrong. Keep following the Stages as the doctor tells you.
You have to give yourself a few more weeks for your body to adjust. I started to lose continuously after about a month or so. Be patient and it will happen for you. Go slow and walk alittle bit at a time, then see when you can start doing exercise. Talk to you surgeon.
I started doing alot more after a month. Then the weight started to come off faster. But it will slow down again. I am at 20mths now and its halted for awhile. I am going nuts right now and I know it will start up again. I just have to be patient, which is so hard.
Take a deep breath and relax. Your time will come, I promise you that. Take it slow and you will see how quickly it will start to come off.
Love ya

OMG CUT ITOUT!!! You are in the immediate post op phase- where your body is adjusting. You have fluid shifting going on from surgery and the IV's etc., so relax, keep doing what you are doing, following your post op plan and before you know it- you'll be seeing results. Meanwhile- there is no good reason to be on the scale- so stay off of it!!!!! The point is - it is nearly impossible- if not totally impossible- to lose weight so relax.....it will happen/
