I'M HUNGRY AND NEED TO VENT!!!!!!!!
I am tired of not having anything to eat. I am tired of the same stuff. I am having an Endoscopy on Friday because my surgery was May of 2005 and I can drink all I want, eat all the cheese and soup I want but give me some some rice and beans or a piece of meat and I can only eat have about 1 teaspoon at a time. Meat forget it. I can barely have a whole egg. Also I just realized that I have been drinking alot of diet soda. That and my protien drinks are all that makes me feel good right now. I am getting in enough protien per day because I supplement. I just want to get it from some REAL food. That is sad! I recently had some complications and had to have surgury again. I never thought i would say this but I am underweight. My ideal weight is 122 and I weight about 110. I hope I feel better after they stretch my pouch. Thanks for listening!

Hey Girl, Sorry to hear your having problems. I still cannot eat rice , Beans are ok but I miss the food I grew up on. Chicken is tough as well, need to eat in in broth or some kind of gravy. Good that they are looking into it as far as trying to see why you cannot eat regular foods. Sorry it has taken this long to have them look into it. But alas, at least it 's being taken care of. You have done well as far as your weight loss and thats a positive. You must have the patience of a saint to be dealing with so long. Just keep trying to get your calories in, May evenwant to break out a little food processor and run your meats thru them. Wal mart has them for like 12 bucks. I use mine to grind up my chicken with a little mayo to make chicken salad. Good luck and hope your issues are resolved ASAP! Take care
Man - that totally sucks for you - here you are taking a stand to better your health and now you have to put up with this - geeeze - life is just so unfair sometimes! I'm sure Dr. Barba will figure it out and be able to help you - he is an excellent surgeon - hope you get it fixed soon! In the mean time, try experiementing with some mushy food - I love the noodleless lasagna I eat during mushy phase times - it's easy and yummy - I layer ricotta cheese, sauce and some type of shredded cheese and just bake it. I really like blending cottage or ricotta cheese up with an avocado and some spices like garlic, lemon juice and hot peppers. I can imagine cheese soup getting old really quick - hang in there - you'll be better soon!
Best of luck with the endoscopy!
Best Regards,
Tammy
Hi Splenda,
I'm sorry to hear that after a year you're still struggling with food intake. I hope your test goes well & that they can help you quickly. I hope you're recovering well from your other surgery.
I eat refried beans (fat free) with some melted shredded cheese and some fat free sour cream. It's a staple I keep in the house all the time.
I also make a "dip" of hormel chili (turkey w/beans), fat free cream cheese and shredded cheese & melt it in the microwave for a minute or two until it's bubbly. It's pretty soft and goes through the pouch pretty easily.
Please keep us in the loop of how you're doing,
Mickey
