Two week pre op diet!!
Hi Nancy,
I was going through the same emotional roller coaster just the other day. Paula and Terri had some really great advice, as did other people on the website. They told me to take it one day at a time, keep a food log, and drink plenty of water. The more protein you eat now, the easier it will be when the time comes for you to live on protein for the rest of your life.
Dr. Craig Floch told me at me pre-op appointment if your liver isn't small enough, he will close you right back up. That was enough to scare the ba jezes out of me. You only have a couple more days, and think of how rewarding it will be.
I live in East Lyme so maybe we could go to Norwalk or St. V's together for a support group??
Good luck my dear, you are 1/2 way there.
I think the time right before surgery has to be the hardest time to lose weight, Nancy. The stress and anticipation can really get to you. Good thing it is summer. There are lots of easy things you can throw together for a supper meal. perdue short cuts have saved many a day here. You can put them over a salad or serve them with raw veggies and ff dip and a little sliced watermelon on the side. takes no time at all to prepare.
but.... you are right, after surgery you and the family will have an adjustment to make cuz Mom is going to need to make time for her schedule too. I have to say, that having consistent meal schedules and healthy meals has definately been a welcome improvement for the whole family.
hang in there girl!
