have a date
Hi Joni,
Congrats! Soon, you'll be on your way to being the biggest LOSER!!!!
You are in terrific hand with Dr Aranow! (In my and my husband's opinion, anyways, he did both of our RNY's)
Make sure you take the pre op class at the hospital prior to surgery. It's VERY informative. It's not required, but is good to attend for they tell you what to expect from the moment you enter the hospital till the minute you leave.
Start walking a lot now, it gets you ready for good healing after surgery. Good for your lungs too.
Also, have a lot of protein in your diet with either protein rich foods or protein shakes. The protein helps your staple lines (in your belly) to heal a lot quicker too.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to post here (don't worry about your typing...we don't care!) or email me.
Remember to post when you get home so that we can hear how you're doing.

Hi Joni! Congrats on your surgery date! You ust b so excited. I wish you an uneventful surgery and a quick recovery. You couldn't be in better hands than Dr. A's.
Hey- don't let the thought of you being apoor typist keep you away from posting. WE don't care! Heck, if only the perfect typists or spellers (is that a word??) were here, it would be a lonely place!
Be sure to keep us updated & take good care.
Best,
Lisa C
(I had surgery with Dr. A 11/18/02 and started with a BMI of just about 51. I now have a normal BMI! Yay for WLS!!!)
Hi Joni-
Congrats -- and we will be fellow alumni of August 7th-I just got the word from Lois that I will be having my RNY that day as well. I look forward to meeting you. Are you going to be able to attend the orientation at the hospital next Wed? See you there if you are
Are you feeling a bit "numb"? In total joy but disbelief that after all the jumping through insurance company hoops the Start line for our getting to the Losing Side is just weeks away.
Best wishes and email me if you would like........
Carol D.
PS don't worry about the typing--it is what is in your heart that truly matters.
