Hi, I went for my check up with Dr A last month and he didn't say anything about my vit d being low. A week after my apt with Dr A, I saw my endocrinologist for my bi-annual check of my thyroid and he noticed in the same bloodwork that my Vit D was low. Dr A checks a 125 hydroxy Vit D lab test and my endo wanted to check closer and ordered a 25 hydroxy Vit D test. He told me in the meantime, to get a Vit D supplement 1000 IU's and take daily along with my Calcium w/ D. Today, I got a prescription in the mail to take a HUGELY high dose of Vit D (50,000 IU's) by prescription once a week for 8 weeks to see if that'll bring it up. And to also still take the daily supplement. This, he says, is why I may be so achy and tired. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I hope so! Anyone else with this? Paula

Hang in there Paula. I'm sure the supplementataion will do wonders for you. This is why it's IMPERATIVE that we have our blood tests done regularly and be followed by a PCP (or a second set of eyes) Sometimes what one considers low, another does not. You don't even have to be out of the test's NORMAL range to feel the effects of being lower that your body had been accustomed to. I'm sure in no time you'll be feeling an improvment. Best of luck, Lisa C

Hey there Paula, I just got my blood results today too. My Vitamin D levels are very low too. The doctors office said I need to up the dosage with my calcium. I am going to go the the Vitamin Shoppe here in Milford to see what I can get. I still cant shake getting the scale moving again though, its driving me nuts. And I am still so tired all the time. I give up. I hope the vitamin changes help. Good luck to you too. Hugs KimC
