I went to Dr Barba's office this morning. I thought I had walked into the wrong place. The former staff were "let go" as of last Friday. The new staff are very nice, but were confused and trying to figure where things were, etc. Strange experience, but in retrospect, not completely surprising. Arline

Arline, Are you still scheduled to have your surgery on the 19th of this month. Also I am going to the informational seminar on thursday the 13th, office told me I would receive something by e-mail before the seminar but as of today I received nothing, are things really crazy with his new office staff, I am a little worried. What was your take on things? Why were you not surprised about the experience? Good luck with the surgery my thoughts and prayers are with you. Kathi M.

I just got a call today from someone at the office from someone who has strong accent - My surgery has been posponed for the third time - now it's the 20th of July. You'll probably get your packet at the seminar as I did. Things apparently haven't been getting done on time. My take is that the new office staff have no idea what has been done, and what hasn't. I wasn't surprised because I had so many appointments changed at the last minute(e.g., my endoscopy had been scheduled on a day when Barba was in California - it took almost a week and 2 phone calls from me, to get another date scheduled). This was very inconvenient considering I needed to arrange a ride there and back. It is a busy office; I'm sure it was hard to get everything done with so many patients needing so many appointments. Maybe they just needed more staff, who knows what was going on there! I think it would be a help to the new staff to call and let them know if you need anything. Arline

I went to the office yesterday for my 3 month post op. It was very odd - no one I knew.... even Jessica was gone. Very disappointing. Although I had a good weigh loss, total 77.5 lbs., I had a very disappointing experience yesterday. It was my first visit with the nurse practitioner - let's say we just didn't hit it off. I came with my list of questions....topic of hair loss. She actually chuckled. Needless to say, I was told to buy a wig or cut my hair short. I was so upset. I ended up crying all the way home.

Wow, that was rude! But congratulations on doing so well. This isn't about the nurse, it's about you, so try to keep your visits short and sweet. Keep up the good work!! Arline

Wow that Nurse Practictioner sounds like a major butthead.

Just to clarify - She is not a butthead at all - I think she's excellent. She has never treated me with anything but respect and professionalism.
