Party we were at last night...

Hi All, Bob and I had the pleasure to attend the 40th birthday party of a good friend last night that was held at the beach club where we all are members. I was able to eat a well balanced protein rich diet and Bob was able to fork mash some swordfish. (He's 3 weeks out) The neat thing about the party was, Celeste, who's party is was, had WLS with Dr Aranow 2 years ago next month. Her husband, Dominic, had it also, two years ago this month. She's lost over 125 lbs and looks fantastic, he's lost over 220 lbs and also looks fantastic. Another friend of our's, Pat, also came to the party...she was just released from Middlesex that afternoon!!! Also having Dr Aranow as her surgeon! Dominic's sister is now in the process to have her surgery. Some of you may know them from the support group. They have been going a lot lately. So there were 5 of us at this party who were Dr Aranow's WLS patients and were all so happy. We can actually start our own support group here in Rhode Island! We all know the road to Middletown very well!! I was pleased to go to the store and buy off of the rack, a bright yellow pair of capris and a hawaiian floral shirt. We all were decked out in luau attire! Bob was in a size XL shirt for the first time in about 8 years! He's already down 42 lbs since May 10th (the start of his journey w/ Dr A) Dominic threw his wife a wonderful bash. Tiki bar (yes, I had about 7 too many margaritas from the fountain!), Full catered menu, calypso band and lit palm trees, all by the side of the beach and ocean. It was the best night weatherwise for a party. The entire beach club (that were not invited guests) got to enjoy the music and ambiance while sitting on the other decks at their own cabanas. The band was awesome. Today, I've got to get back over there and do some walking on the beach. Too much drink (sugar) and one half a piece of cheesecake! I can feel it today, that's for sure! (I'm not a drinker, either) Just thought I'd share our pleasant time. I'd love to have a party there for all of us WLS patients from the CT board someday. It would be a blast. Maybe next summer? Would you all travel to Westerly (Misquamicut beach) Rhode Island for an evening? Paula

Hey Paula, Sounds like you and Bob had a fantastic time, congrats to you both and to your friends on their success. Thats awesome. I am so happy for you.
