Six days away

Hey all. I am new to these boards! I wish I had know about them before.........but better late than never, huh? I am now six days away from my surgery. Can't wait!!!!!!!! But feeling nervous too. My kids are all scared, although I keep telling them how happy and excited I am to be having the RNY done. Any suggestions on helping my kids get through this (17, 13 and 10) or just plain old getting me through this would be great!!! Thanks~ Margaret

Welcome Margaret, Good Luck on your Surgery. You may want to wade thru the the different profiles on here to show your kids the before and after pictures so they can get an Idea just what a life changing thing you are going to go thru. Lots of wonderful stories here to show your kids how after this surgery , your health and interaction will your kids will multiply immensley. Your going to love the "Journey" your going to start and know there are lots of folks here that are will to share experences and tips to help you along the way. Thank you to you both for responding to my post. My surgery is now in the morning, and I am starting to get just a little nervous - but excited too! I just dont want to wake up with the tube in my throat....... Please say a prayer for me I asked my surgeon to make sure he sleeps well tonight and has a good, healthy breakfast in the am. I'm also going to write "Thank you Dr. Valin" on my belly so he sees it when he "goes to work" on me. Thanks again for your support - it is very much appreciated!!!!!!! Margaret
