Hi Dorota - I can't sleep either. I always have a hard time so I spend my time reading some of the boards. Sometimes I'll even post - like now. I have had a quiet weekend as usual. I spent yesterday mostly sleeping since I didn't fall asleep till 6 am. I have restless legs syndrome and sometimes no matter what I do I can't get them to settle down. How about your weekend? Did you go to many picnics? If so, how did you do? I am still pre-op but I've started somewhat eating how I'll have to post-op so it won't be another shock to my system. Today I went to Norwalk to visit my Mom. She lives with my sister and brother-in-law in the "old homestead". My grandparents passed the house on to my Mom and Dad. Now my Mom has passed it on to my sister. My brothers and I asked Mom to do that since we all had our own homes and she is the one taking care of Mom. Mom is 84 years old and very lucid. She's had 2 hip replacements so she uses a walker. Oh - she lives in the same room she was born in. My sister intends to let her die there too. It's what Mom wants. Enough from me. Linda

Hi Linda.... I did Ok on my cookout...I made salmon burgers and had one with no bun, a small piece of steak, black bean and corn salad, and watermelon.....the watermelon was probably a bit too much, and my stomach was a bit grumpy afterwards, but, all in all, considering, i think i did well... I had been having some difficult days with hunger and eating too much carbs, so today i got back on the wagon...besides the watermelon, no carbs for me....i am going low-carb for a few days, as carbs set off my cravings......and I need to get control again... I am sitting here sipping on my decaf sugar-free icetea, my 17 year old daughter came in from work around 10 and decided to bake a cherry pie...crazy girl!! the smell is making me hungry, so I went downstairs and made me a big bottle of ice tea.....staying away from the pie, as that would soooo make me sick.... So, Linda, do you have a surgery date????? Sorry to hear about your restless leg syndrome.... I used to have a mild case of it,,,not too bad, but now that I think of it, I cant remember the last time I had an episode!!!!Wow, I didnt even realize..... Add it to the long list of ailments that no longer bother me since surgery.... Maybe it will help you too.... Good Luck, Dorota

nope. No surgery date yet. I finished all the evaluations so the paperwork has to go to the surgeon who has been in CA. I have had these restless legs for 38 years now. It's only been within the last 10 that meds have been available to help. I did use quinine for a while but it was turned to prescription. I didn't like the taste anyway. I'm having a problem right now sitting in this chair. I need to get up and do some housework. Otherwise, I can take my puppies for a little walk. Looks like I'll be sleeping till 10 again tomorrow. My grandson's mother called to ask me to keep him for a couple of hours tomorrow. He's 9 and really no problem. tthere are many kids for him to play with here, he has his own room complete with tv, vcr and video game thingamabob. "This computer is also in his room. I have 9 grandchildren but he is the one I am closest to. I live with his father, my son Brian. Brian has been my angel through my past 5 years of depression. Alex spends 1/2 his time here and the other with his mother. Brian is 35 and has had poor luck in love. He's finally found a very nice young woman so he spends most nights with her. He stays home when Alex is here or he sometimes takes Alex over to Lisa's house to sleep. That leaves me home with my 2 *****in' fries puppies. They are great companions. Sorry, I've got to get up & walk. I'll come back and check on you. If you can finally fall asleep, sweet dreams. Linda
