And you thought you had a bad day!
My son and I went to the gym this moring and on the way back stopped to get a haircut. When I went to go pay I noticed I was charged 2 dollars less than my son so I asked why and the Lady told me she gave me a seinor citizens discount. !! I asked her how old I looked and she told me 56 !!! . Am crushed, gave them both a good tip anyway but talk about having a bad day, Think I will go take a nap!
Julio,
Don't worry...you definitely don't look THAT old!
Just take the discount and say thank you! We all could use a discount on services now and then. Anyways, I'm betting the girl was a high school or college kid, and to them anyone over the age of 40 looks like a senior citizen.
I remember being a cashier years ago @ Gloria's Garden Center in milford. I was in high school and asked a woman who looked older if she wanted her discount. Well, long story short...she yelled at me.
Needless to say, from that point on, I let the customer tell me if they WANTED the senior discount!
Take care,
Kelly
Oh dear my buddy Julio!
Some people just don't know what they do to us with their words.
Reminds me of the time someone thought I was my sister's mother!!! Geesh - she's only 5 years younger than me!!!
I felt pretty old that day too....!
This too shall pass - you young whipper snapper you!!! We still love ya!
Hugs,
Carla
Oh Julio,
What a moron that chic was to say that to you...She probably was some 20 something that thinks anyone over the age of 30 is old.
Don't sweat it, you know how old you are and and how you really feel is what's important.
One kid in my daughter's class (2nd grade) asked her if I was her grandmother a few weeks ago! I know I'm gonna be 43 in Oct, but heck! Well, my mom was a grandmother when she was 41...anything is possible, i guess. Not for me though. I had my kids late.
Hang in there...there will be someone around the corner asking to see your license next cause they think you're underage!
have a good weekend.
