Hi, All! I've got a very busy couple of weeks coming up, and won't have time to post again until mid-July (see one of my other posts of this afternoon for the explanation). So here's the info. about the Hamden and Middlesex support group meetings for the next few weeks. Please note that there's a change in the schedule for the Middlesex meetings. They're still at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown on Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.. However, the post-op only meeting will no longer be on the 1st Tues. of the month. It's now going to be on the 3rd Mon. Also, there's now going to be a lapband-only meeting once a month. The meetings are still open to everyone, although most attendees are patients of Dr. Aranow. Here's the new schedule: 1st Mon. - for pre-ops only - mandatory 1-time attendance - nutritional and psych. info. presented by program dietician and psychologist 2nd Mon. - for both pre- and post-ops - 2 simultaneous meetings (in 2 rooms) - 1 for lapband and 1 for gastric bypass (The lapband meeting will be run by our own Mary M.) - meetings usually consist of general discussion, questions and answers 3rd Mon. - for post-ops only 4th Mon. - a panel of post-ops presenting their stories and answering questions - primarily for pre-ops, but some of us post-ops attend anyway to support our friends on the panel 5th Mon. - for both pre- and post-ops - general discussion, questions and answers Because of the 4th of July holiday, there will be no meetings on Mon., 7/3, in Middletown or in Hamden. The Hamden group meets at the Senior Center (behind the Miller Library on Dixwell Ave.) from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month. So the next Hamden meeting will be on Mon., 7/17. The Hamden group isn't affiliated with any doctor or hospital and is run by a couple of post-ops. The meetings usually consist of general discussion, questions and answers. Anyone is welcome to attend. Debby
