Hello from a Newbie

Just wanted to say hello, I have been browsing and noticed you have an active board. Although I am in MA now I grew up in Stamford and all of my family is still in CT as well as some friends. I am just starting the process, I have an pre-patient meeting on 6/29 and then on July 5th I have my consult w/ surgeon, Nut, physc and I think someone else too all in 1-4 hour appointment. Like I said just wanted to say hello Gwen

Thanks for making me feel welcome, I have run the gammit of emotions and sure I will run through them all hundreds of times over B4 surgery. Bette I would love to see your list of 50+ reasons to have surgery. I look at everone's profiles and am amazed not only by the wonderful physical but emotional transformations everyone has, I worry just as much if not more about the emotional effects. Thanks Paula, I will be going to "America" = ) for surgery, Newton Wellesley. That's the hardest part about living here is that I'll spend more money on the travel expenses than anything else!

Hi Gwen! Welcome to the CT boards! Nantucket??? I'm JEALOUS! Well, we hope that if you're ever here visiting family, you feel free to attend a support group meeting down this way, or even an event, if we have one going on. What an exciting time for you! I remember when i was in your shoes...just getting going on my consult. I was so excited and nervous and SCARED too! I would love to join in the events down there when I am in the area. I know I will be needing support while down there, even w/o WLS I find my family trying at times. Norwalk Hospital would probably be the easiest where can I find where and when meetings are? I will start updating my profile, sometimes I wonder where to start and look at other profiles to get ideas and go yeah that's me, I need to write things down on paper 1st to organize because I jump off on tangents = ) which not only confuse me but will confuse the rest of you too = ) THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT Gwen
