Insomnia Can Hinder Your Weight Loss
So you already know that a well-balanced diet and a regular exercise program are keys to your weight loss plan. But are you listening to that other recommendation you've heard more than once in your life? Get plenty of sleep. Recent medical studies show that sleep loss can increase hunger and affect your body's metabolism in a way that makes weight loss more difficult. So if you're making a good effort in your nutrition and fitness plans, you still might be able to improve your success with better sleep.
Off to get some sleep!

Great article Towanda... SO VERY TRUE
My Nut preaches the same thing pretty much word for word. Except she puts alot of emphasis on the concept of Cortisol, stressing how the lack of sleep effects the Cortisol levels -- the flucuations of all those horomones cause fat storage in the abdomen. When she went into detail about how that works, I immediately pushed myself to start going to bed earlier!
I used to be a night owl... stay up late, sleep 3 1/2 - 4 hours a night... and ever since I had my son I was used to waking up every hour or less. But now my son is older, and ever since my Nut slapped the reality of fat-storage and lack of sleep into my head, I'm in bed no later then 10 and up around 5... it was alot easier to lose the weight once I started getting a good night's sleep!! Plus I felt better all around. And since then, I've even gone off of my anti-depressants, too.
GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP GUYS!! IT HELPS!!

My nut said that you need NO LESS than 6 hours a night. Anything between 6-8 is perfect. Anything over 8 though, is bad in the same way... your body gets too sluggish just as if you're not sleeping enough. I know that if I get less than 6 nowadays, I feel useless all day long and need a nap mid-afternoon.
Speaking of, I'm going to catch some zzzz's riiiiiiiiiight now....
'Night All!!!

Since getting sick and being in the hospital I have begun going to bed much earlier and getting a full 8 hours a night and yes, I am impressed at the energy boost and how much better I feel. I used to stay up past 1 am and now I am in bed with the chickens (almost literally they get cooped at dusk and I go to bed by 9-9:30pm....)
