April~
By far, that first month is the toughest. So many changes. Honestly nobody can prepare us for the extent of the changes that occur. And then there is the physical recovery from having major surgery. And then there is the saying goodbye to food as we have known it in the past. It is almost like saying goodbye to an old, yet familiar abusive lover. It was for me anyway. So be really gentle with yourself kiddo. You will make it through this tough time. I cried off and on for the first month.
Check out couple of sites. Perhaps they will help.
http://www.livingafterwls.com/ some really helpful stuff on this site.
http://www.consciouseating.com/ check out the OASIS to the right on the home page.
Some suggestions...
Make sure you are getting enough hydration. And get to a support group meeting if possible. Connecting with others in your surgeon's group helps.
And I am just only seeing the difference in my body almost 2 years post op.
One day you will walk by a store and look in the window and say, "hey, who is that lovely woman?" "hey wait, that's me!"
Be well.
