LAP BAND SURGEON???????????????

I saw Dr. Bell and his partner at a support group meeting and was very impressed by the presentation on the lap band. They are out of Yale and would be worth a look. Scott

Hi Cyndee... I vote for Dr. Ehrlich!! Although I had the bypass, there's alot of people in my support group that he has done the band on. And I can't say enough good things about him. There's a new patient seminar next Tuesday the 6th at Norwalk Hospital, so if your friend calls the office, she can get started right away. And of course, Towanda, Bob, and I will be sharing our experiences with the group after the presentation!! Kim K.

Dear Cynthia, Hi, I am VERY pleased with Dr. Aranow. I met with two other bariatric surgeons, but something always seemed a little "off", and I chickened out. When I met Dr. Aranow, I was impressed with him. Although he told me I couldn't have the gastric bypass because of my past medical hystory, he said I was a good candidate for the lap band, and it would be a safer choice for me personally. Had surgery on 3-13-06. I've lost a total of 55lbs so far (some before and the rest after surgery). If I was exercising more, I'd be losing even faster. Anyway, he is very experienced, answered all my questions and took time to explain everything to me in detail. He has a better program than the other 2 surgeons did. I had my LapBand done by Dr. Barba at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford and I am extremely happy. Both Dr. Barba and Dr. Giovanni in the same practice have extensive experience with both RNY's and Bands. There are monthly support group meetings specific to the surgery type and everyone in the practice is extremely helpful. I met with another surgeon in Hartford before selecting Dr. Barba but he had not yet done a Band. He was willing to do the RNY on me, but my other physicians preferred the band for other medical reasons. I'm happy to have made that choice and have lost 43 lbs since the beginning of the year.....mostly in those weeks when I've exercised more. Ellen Litchfield
