Hi All - I want to plan a family reunion for September of 2007, my extended family lives all over the country and I'd like to pull us all together if I can - we haven't had a reunion in about 30+ years! There are about 80 of us and I want it to be held at a place that has activities and entertainment. The place High Meadow in Granby is perfect but they have a 100 adult requirement. The Sunrise resort in Moodus, CT would be good but the place is so run down looking - I want it to be something a little more upscale and special. Do any of you know a resort like place that hosts events like this in CT, MA or RI?? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Best Regards, Tammy

how about Hammonassett State Park or Ocean Beach in New London? (I'm not sure of the quality of Ocean Beach)...Harkness State Park (Waterford) near the shore is beautiful, too. Any of the state parks are nice. Isn't there something out towards Litchfield? How about Lake Compounce or a place like that? Paula

Along the same lines as High Meadow is Holiday Hill in Cheshire, owned by the same company. Holiday Hill offers shared date events where they have several families or companies using the grounds on the same day. I work for a relatively small company so we have our job picnic there. Its a great place really, everyone likes it.

I've got an different, but hopefully interesting idea for you- which is sparked by the thought that you're trying to bring people in from all over and will need accomodations... The Marriott in Windsor CT (close to the airport and they have a free airport shuttle) is a GREAT facility and they actively seek weekend business, since they are such a corporate weekday focused site. They could put together a great pacakge for you including rooms and meal functions, etc. It's VERY close to Six Flags and I'm sure the staff @ Marriott could help you figure out other great group activities in the area and help arrange. I can't say enough wonderful things about the FANTASTIC staff at this hotel they will do a great job for you. If you want, you can call Tracy Norwood in their sales department at 860-847-5012. She can tell you all about the great things they can do for you! P.S. (No, I don't work for them! Just love to do business with them!) best, lisa c

Tammy- Check out "A Villa Louisa" in Bolton. I've been there for showers and weddings; they do a great job and it's less expensive than most places. For other activities, Gay City state park is about 10 minutes away. Arline
