Surgery Wednesday!
It's been awhile since i've posted. I was scheduled for my revision gastric bypass April 3rd, but found out 2 days prior to the surgery my insurance company denied me. Luckily, thru an appeal, the decision was overturned and I'm now approved! I'm starting to freak out a little bit because revisions hold a greater risk for complications. I know the first surgery was difficult (1999) but i have no idea how i'll feel after waking up from a revision. Wish me luck!
Hi Koukla,
I'm getting the revision because, according to my current doctor, the first doc that did my surgery was too conservative with the size he made my pouch. My surgery was back in 1999. I only lost about 40 lbs. Not everyone needs a revision. Only those with major complications or in my case, not working. The revision is risky. It's basically just going to be redone, but there is a lot of scar tissue that needs to be cut away. I believe this is where the risk comes into play. If you have anymore questions please feel free to contact me and thank you so much for your well wishes!
