So my surgery is today I have to be at the hospital at 11:15am and I wasnt nervous but now I am totaly freaking out. My stomache is in knots I have a wicked sore throat and cant drink nothing. My hubby just left for work and I cried like a baby. Omg what am I doing? I am trying to breathe but teh more I think about it the more I feel sick. So I am just gonna look at more before and after pics and just think about my Life after WLS.Let me thank you all in advance just in case I already left for my journey, So thank you all I really mean that I couldnt of done it on my own with out all of you. All the love I can give April

April: Now is the time to revisit your reasons for having surgery. And remember it is ok to be nervous. Try to do some "self-talk" as you would if you were trying to sooth a frightened child. And go to this site http://www.consciouseating.com/ and click on "oasis" (you will find it on the right). It might help calm you. As you enter the doors to the hospital today... know this April... We are here with you... spreading our wings...so you may be rest assured as your surgeon gives you that tool to bring your health back. We will be smiling and holding you in our hearts and prayers. Remember you have your sisters and brothers on the CT forum here waiting for your safe and vibrant return... you, April will not be walking through those doors of the hospital alone! See you on the POST-op Side! Towanda

April, What you're going through right now is normal! The night before my surgery, I wrote notes to my hubby and my two kids, "just in case!" Keep taking deep breaths and keep busy. Before you know it, you'll be waking up and it'll be over. Good thoughts coming your way! paula

To all responders: This is such excellent advice. I'm going to save it for when I have surgery. After 4 months of tests, etc., I just got a call from my surgeon's (Dr Barba) office to schedule my first apt and I'm already freaking out. Arline

You will be fine. The abyss is always scary but its better than being in the state that you feel you are in. Lots of great things in life have a scary start!
