Sleep Apnea Test - Ugh!

I told the pulmonary Dr. that I did not want to take the sleep study and now they are making me! Why? I had a surgery 10 months ago and I was perfectly fine. Why do I feel that this is a huge money grubbing industry and that no-one cares to listen to the individual? Even the social worker made me pay before seeing her. UGH!

who are you planning surgery with? Do you have any risks for sleep apnea- signs of it?

Hi Laura! Doctors are different about this. When my wife had the surgery she had to have the test done. She had surgery at Yale. My surgeons worked out of St Ray's and they said they would see if I had a problem with it while I was recovering from surgery. I had a 58 BMI as well as high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes so I had enough comorbities to go around so I guess they didn't need to add anything else to my plate. Good Luck on your "Journey"
