I think I finally see a difference...
Well, went shopping today and tried on a pair of Bermuda shorts and a long sweater and went out of the dressing room to the tri-mirror and I think I finally see the difference of 100 pounds gone!
I remember last summer this time, searching, and searching for sizes 30/32 in shorts and shirts and finding only a few. I was HUGE
NOW, they are a size 18W!!!
Plus, I got a pair of jeans for 3 bucks...a bit snug yet, but for 3 bucks, who cares? I'll lose another 5 pounds and they'll be fine.
Got two of those long sweaters (short sleeved) for 5 bucks a piece.
I hit the bargains and thought I looked better at the same time. The woman at the dressing room told me the outfit looked really nice. I told her, yeah, especially when last year I was buying sizes 30/32.
I'm proud of myself today! I think it may be starting to "sink" in that I've lost some weight. I'll take a pix soon. The one's I've taken so far I don't like.
I also bought a pair of stretchy shorts to start going to the gym in. I need to start toning and using the circuit at the Y and don't have a thing to wear there!
I refuse to wear elastic waisted pants/shorts again. THey were my downfall to gaining weight before...only in workout clothes will I wear them!
had to share.

Congrats Paula!! Now you have to share the new you with us here on the CT board!! Funny how you are just now seeing the 100lb loss! Guess it is something with our psychie (sp?) that doesn't allow us to see the smaller person (of course I won't know until I have surgery!).
Take care and can't wait to see an updated picture!

Good Going Paula! Isn't shopping off the rack the Best!!!. I hit the "Clearance Rack" at just abouyt every store I go to. Lots of good deals that come in handy when your sizes keep changing!I put out a list of sizes I have that are too big for me now and sizes I need and e- mailed it to my brothers and in-laws and have done pretty well as well. They have been able to use stuff I don't wear anymore as well.. Keep up the great work!!!
congrats paula,
thats a nice feeling isnt it,i had surgery only 8 weeks ago and went from 2-3x to 16-18,i am so happy, and the compliments, well i feel so good about everything now,my son is getting married in september and i think i might actually look great this event in a sexy dress..lol..i cant wait, keep up the good work, hope to meet you at the picnic...cyndee
You go girl,
Thats awesome, I know how that feels, I was a 32-34 and now an 18 and sometimes 16 depending on the stores. Its a great feeling. I haven't seen these sizes since highschool 25 years ago.
Good for you, thats so great to hear. Keep up the good work. Your doing great. Congrats on your success. Hope to see you at the picnic to congratulate you in person and give you a big hug.

Yeah Paula!!!!! I know what you mean- everybody says that it takes awhile for your brain to catch up with the new you- they are right- hey Dr Aranow was mashing my belly in the hospital and said "you're getting skinny" to me- I was tickled!!! I bet you look great- NEW PHOTO!!!!!! I won't recognize you now....
What's really ironic- I can't find clothes SMALL enough now...I found a TON of clothes in 30/32 at Fashion Bug....looking for 18/20 tops and 22 bottoms....sigh......
go figure.
Congratulations Paula! 100 lbs gone! Whoot Whoot!
I absolutely HEAR you about the elastic pants...I refuse to wear them except for working out or doing housework. Everything needs to have some type of button or snap to them..I think it's because that's all I wore when I was a 26/28 last year.
It's amazing how are mind needs to catch up with what our body is showing. I struggle whenever I look in the mirror. I still see my self at 280 lbs at times and have to remind myself of the change that has taken place physically over this past year.
Celebrate & keep hitting those sales racks! Gotta LOVE the bargains! I hope to run into you at the picnic.
Hugs girlie,
Mickey
