I AM HOME AKA BERNADETTE BREAKS OUT OF THE BARIATRIC FLOOR
Dr Aranow sprung me today- without putting in a PEG tube, we decided I did manage to eat enough yesterday and therefore why go through a surgical procedure if I can tough it out without one.
I am extrmemely tired and still a tad depleted but on the mend.
His impression is I got walloped by one nasty virus that threw my system for a loop and then some, and it will heal itself "with the tincture of time" as he says.
SEVEN days I was there- unbelievable. I was a tad depressed the other day - but mostly held my head up and persevered. My sense of humor always sees me through.
I gotta say it again, Dr Aranow is a God-send- and the North 4 staff at MMH is the best nursing staff around. Thank God for him and for Middlesex Hospital.
I want to thank everybody here- especially Paula Hepler and Debbie MArcus- for being so caring and concerned and for all the emails- you have no idea how much they brightened my day.....
Hope you have a speedy recovery - 7 days in a hospital is a long time! Being a tad depressed is amazing - a lot of people would have been a lot more then a tad depressed! Keep your positive outlook - get losts of rest - because no matter how great a hospital is - the real rest begins at home! ;)
That's some nasty and scary virus! So glad you're home and getting your strength back - take it one day at a time..........
Best Regards,
Tammy
