I thought I was making a healthy choice when I was in a rush and wanted to grab something fast to get for breakfast - so i went to Dunkin Donuts (I know big mistake) and bought a strawberry bannana smoothy - they advertise it as being GOOD for you made with yogurt and fruit and having calcium - I think they might even say it's low fat - well I just looked it up to see what it had for nutrional value and am totally in shock to see it has 69 grams of sugar for 16 ounces!!! NO MORE SMOOTHIES FOR ME!! I think Dunkin Donuts ought to be ashamed of themselves to advertise this as a healthy alternative! Here's what they say: Introducing Delicious New Smoothies! Dunkin' Donuts Smoothies are made with real fruit and yogurt, and are a good source of Calcium and Vitamin C. Dunkin' Donuts Smoothies are the snack that won't slow you down. Yeah it won't slow you down because it has so much friggin' sugar in it!!!! The people who invented this drink and the people who developed the advertisement are evil! Oh well - live and learn! Tammy

Hey Tammy, I agree with you on that, they are very deceaving with their advertisements on things they claim are healthy. I almost got one of those until I found out the ingredients and calories. They need to realize out there that there are alot of us who can't have things like this and they should be trying to help. Oh well like you said you live and learn. Hugs KimC

Hi Tammy! Thanks for the "Heads Up" on the Double D smoothie! Saw the advertizement yesterday and thought the same thing you did. Drinking that would have really upset my "pouch". Have a great day!, Julio

Hi Tammy, I just saw a clip for out local Providence news that they were doing a story on "What's Exactly In Those New Dunkin Donuts Fruit Smoothies"...Dunkin Donuts is based out of Providence... I wouldn't drink them because of the stupid commercial they show here for them...the mom is driving all of her kids to a different activity and they sing them, soccer, oboe, ballet, etc. etc...them they yell, KARATE...it's so queer when I hear it come on, I immediately grab the remote and switch it. That turned me off big time. I've found that most coffee shops have nothing to offer me except decaf coffee, which I don't drink except for iced, so, they've lost my business except for my kids... Just don't drink it again! paula

The radio spot they have here has a woman singing about how she won't eat fast food or food from a vending machine for lunch any more b/c now she has discovered the DD smoothie. Yep they really try to make you think its a healthy alternative without telling you what is supposed to be ao darn healthy about it. lol

yeah I wouldn't touch a smoothie from them with a ten foot pole- it's amazing how many people just blindly eat and drink stuff from fast food without thinking - a little smarts and a computer is all you need to make good choices...keep up the good work Tammy- and next time make you r own smoothie at home first!!!!
