Liquid Diet
Hi everyone I am starting my liquid diet today. I have one question though the paper says it is a 1,000 calorie liquid diet but the drinks them self add up past the 1,000 mark so how am I suppose to be able to have the broth and jello like it says too? For now I am just gonna make the jello and drink the 3 briks a day and see how that goes. So one more week from today I will be sitting in the hospital either waiting to be brought in or in surgery...WOW... the feelings I have right now are so intense. I am so anxiuos but nervous at the same time I dont think I am nervous as much about the surgery it self but about the fact the my hubby will be home for 3 1/2 days with our 3 kids...My house is gonna be out of control. This will be teh longest he would have been left alone with the kids, but my mom na d other family members will stop by and make sure teh house is still standing for me...LOL...Well that is all for now. Thanks to everyones support and love I couldnt have done it with out all of you and I cant wait to see you all at the picnic in June. Love you all April
I can relate to the intense feelings - it's totally normal - everyone goes through some kind of emotional whirlwind before (and after) surgery!
You have a good plan - just drink the drinks and have as much of the other stuff on the list as you want - you don't need to focus so much on the calories as just staying to the things on the list - you need to make sure your liver is nice and small for the surgery!
Good luck - this is one of the hardest parts, the week before liquids - just take it one day at a time - you can do it!
Best Regards,
Tammy
April,
I can understand 100% as I have to girls, 5 & 8. I am 4 weeks out and boy was I shocked when I got home. My house was spotless and all the laundry was done. I did as much as I could before I went in. Even went shopping the night before to get all my vits, water, crystal light, jello, popsicles etc, etc, so it would all be there when I got home and I didnt have to ask anyone to go for me. (helpful hint----go to SAM'S to get all this!!! You'll be glad you did). Don't worry yourself over this stuff now. Hopefully you'll have family that can stop in and help him as well, and maybe you can do a chart (depending on the kids ages) and set up a fun "game" of chores while your in the hospital, start it now and buy them a prize if they continue while your not home.
Stay positive, you'll be fine. Best of luck
