Update on Momoffour...

Hi, All! I talked to her today, just before they came to take her to do a colonoscopy. She told me that Paula Hep sent an e-mail to the hospital which they printed and delivered to her. I didn't know that they do that...I think it's a great idea...much more prompt than mailing a card. Momoffour asked me to post the link and put her real name in the post, so that anyone who's interested can e-mail her. Since then, I saw that Paula posted the link and said that you can e-mail her for Momoffour's real name. So for those of you who haven't done that (or haven't heard back from Paula yet), here's the link: www.middlesexhealth.org/go/midEmailPatient Momoffour's real name is Bernadette McBride. I just sent her an e-mail. They print them out and deliver them Mon. thru Fri., between 8:30 a.m. (?) and 4:30 p.m. So any e-mails sent now won't get to Bernadette till tomorrow, but if we all e-mail her tonight (or real early tomorrow morning, for those of you early birds (like Kathy K.)), she'll get a stack of them tomorrow. So far, all the tests they've run have ruled out all sorts of causes. Depending on the results of the colonoscopy, it may be just that her body is reacting strongly to a bad virus and needs more time to recover. They're probably going to start her on solid food again tonight or tomorrow and see how she reacts. I warned her that she'd better not still be there Mon. evening for us to visit her before the support group meeting! Debby

Hi Debby, and all... I talked to Bernadette late this afternoon and she was feeling ok. She said she felt stronger, but has not heard any definitive news on the colonoscopy, but the gastro doc (whom she hated) didn't think there was anything wrong there... She thinks she may get a solid meal tonight... She's in decent spirits, but she also is an RN and it's hard to be on the receiving end when you're used to being the caregiver... I hope she gets to go home sometime tomorrow. I'll post again in the morning after I call her. paula
