I have not been able to tolerate drinking protien drinks over the last few weeks, the smell and taste makes me gag and nauseaous. I would appreciate any suggestions. I do use the unflavored in some things but need more suggestions. Thanks Sher

I don't know how you tolerate dairy but the simplest protein drink for me is to make it yourself. I buy 2% milk and add a scoop of Body Fortress and some splenda, blend it and its yummy. All the Matrix and Nectar powders I have tried were good too!

Hi Sher, I got creative with mine. Bought sugar free chocolate milk mix (Nestle's) and added it to the protein drinks Try liquid flavorings from the baking aisle such as: Almond Coconut...(Chocolate coconut was one of my favorites) Lemon Sugar free orange mix with vanilla protien tasted pretty good like a creamsicle. Decafinated instant coffee with the protein drinks...I crushed ice with it & it wasn't too bad with splenda/equal...kind of like a coolata Put a very small piece of banana into the mix make sure it really gets blended well pulse it really good to make sure there are no lumps..it will give the drinks a kick. No matter how pretty or inventive you get...you do get tired of them.. Hope these ideas help you, Mickey

I used Isopure fruit drinks for the first few months. They did not taste bad to me and were more tolerable than the powder drinks. I got them at GNC and they were about $3.50 per bottle but have 40g protein per bottle. I think they have about 6 or 7 flavors. They also give you 20oz of water so it helps there also. Good luck Scott

Hi Sher, I use GNC Mega Isolate protien powder that I mix with non fat dry milk. I just put 2 scoops (thats 50 grams of protien) in a 16 ounce sports bottle with the non fat milk and shake it up. I have a few sports bottles so I make a few ahead of time. The best time to buy stuff at GNC is the first 7 days of the month as they run sales during those days. Good luck and keep up the good work!

I do hear the Nectars are pretty good...I also find that anything with a coffee flavor tends to kill the protein powder taste relativelt effectively. So perhaps you can think aobut that if you don't mind the flavor of coffee (for example, you could add decaf instant Foldgers crystals into your shake OR you could try a coffee flavored premixed shake or powder. Another suggestion for you is to use FF powdered milk and NSA Carnation Instant Breakfast or even Low Carb Slim Fast, together. Using the FF powdered milk and then using water to mix the drink it 'perks up' the protein count and tastes better than skim milk... I found that this suggestion works for those who are ultra sensitive to the protein powder taste/smell. Another thought is this- have you been using Whey protein powders? If so, perhaps you can try a SOY protein powder (go to GNC or vitamin shoppe and ask for help finding) Some people can not stand the taste/smell or one but the other might be fine. Hope this helps!! Good luck to you! P.S. If all else fails, SOON you should be able to eat protein bars!
