I am having pain right below my ribcage from left to right, with most pain in the middle then it goes down along my left side of belly. Leading me to think it could be a large intestine pain? I had an ultrasound last week and they ruled out gallstones but this pain still persists... Im having normal BMs then it will be diarrea, and it just plain hurts to eat, walk and breathe deeply............and Im sooo very tired (that could be weather related or work related, was on my feet 8 hours straight yest) Anyway if any of you have experienced this please tell me your story. Thanks, Bethany Janeski GASTRIC BYPASS 11/17/05 266/173/??? 5'7

Bethany - There is a woman on the Lap Band forum who has described almost the same exact type of pain recently. It sounds just like gall bladder - she mentioned that they checked for gall stones and everything seems fine - but a couple of people responded back telling her to get a gall bladder functioning test because sometimes the gall bladder can be free of stones but not functioning properly and it could cause pain. It's worth a try - I hope they find out what's wrong with you and you are out of pain soon. Prayers sent your way........ Best Regards, Tammy

I had the same symtoms you are describing and it was an obstruction in my old stomach. . I kept putting off going to the ER. At first I could do liquids but not solids, as I got sicker that changed also till I was unable to get anything down. I ended up very very sick. Follow your instinct and get it looked at. Blessings s.T.

Hi Bethany, Do you take anything for your stomach on a daily basis?? My surgeon recommended that I take Pepcid AC or Nexium daily for life after surgery. I had the exact same pains you are describing when ran out of the Pepcid AC and never bought any more. I finally had my regular MD put me on Nexium since it's cheaper for me with my prescription deductible than purchasing the Pepcid AC over the counter. My pains went away immediately once I started taking the Nexium again. It may just be that our stomachs will just be sensitive forever after surgery so if you aren't taking anything you may want to try it. Good Luck! ~Sue 262.5>170

Bethany, You need to call your doctor's office and have this checked out. It could be many things. Don't wait for people to respond to you, just call your doctor. Like I said it could be many things. Hugs KimC

Bethany - I have been experiencing pain under my left ribcage for nearly a year. I've had ultrasounds, ct scans, bloodwork, etc.. etc... It doesn't sound exactly like your symptoms as mine doesn't cause me to have pain eating, walking etc...mine is more just a poking kind of feeling that persists. Some days it is a constant irritant, other days it is totally gone. Bottom line for me - they've found nothing wrong anywhere, I guess in a way that's good news, but the pain persists and I may have to go to a pain specialist. I hope the doctors can pinpoint your issue and help you out! Good luck and keep us posted! Hugs, Carla

Hi Bethany, It sounds a little like gall bladder attacks..I had somewhat simular symptoms and turned out my gall bladder was LOADED with stones..had it removed the same time with the WLS. I also have a hernia that "spasms" out on me. It's on my left side just near my incision, right below my breast. I'm going in for that repair in a few weeks. I'm glad you called your dr and hopefully they will get to the bottom of symptoms soon! Keep drinking your fluids so you stay hydrated. Hugs, Mickey
