HI Gang It's been a while since I was here on the boards. I thank Kim and Kathy for keeping in touch with me--it was great seeing you all recently! I want to lose at least 20 more pounds and I am dragging my feet. I can honestly tell you what I am doing wrong. I am lucky the scale has stayed relatively stable...but I a afraid if I keep going on like this will start gaining. Here is what I am doing wrong--I am being honest here, so please don't slam me. This is a confession-and I am hoping to change my behaviors. THINGS I AM DOING WRONG -grazing, especially at work -exercise--not as dedicated as I used to be -stress eating--never thought I would start this again -sugar/carbs--not sure how this started again--but they are creepig back into my life -late night snacking--why in the world do I do it? THINGS I AM DOING RIGHT -i still eat protein first -I still do not drink when I eat--although my intervals are becoming shorter and shorter -I still drink up to 48 oz of water/fluid daily ------------------------------------------------------------ I want to lose 10 lbs by July 1st-Anyone want to join me? I won't bother anyone here..and post on the message board. I thought we could start an email "loop" with our group and be totalyl honest with one another. Food logs are good--in the morning--but what have we actually eaten when the day is done? Anyone will to do this with me? I actually think we need to review "the ruies of the pouch" and go back to basics. I think I need to go back to Fitday.com...and really monitor what I eat. I hope there is one person out there that can be my buddy through this. I think if we throw around some ideas...we could make this work! Thanks.. Love you and miss you all Joanie

Hi Joanie! Nice to see you back on the board. I think we should be posting our food logs at the end of the day so we can actually write what we ate that day. That might help alot in keeping us all on track. Thats what I do mainly because my days are a tad "Screwy" due to the fact that they start at 2am and I usually head to bed by 7pm each night. So I can actually post what I have had each day. I have noticed like you say the "Bed Habits do try to sneak back in if we let them. I keep my fridge stocked up with things like suger free ice pops and yoguert for those "before bed cravings". Thats seems to help keeping me honest. Excersizing while at times may be hard to start up, I'm always glad I did it afterward. I'm at the stage that I miss it if I can't get to the gym every other day. Have to make it part of your weekly routine. Good Luck on your challenge and any help or support I can supply please know it's there for the asking! That's what we are here for! Take care, Julio

Thanks Julio- I need to change things up for myself--for sure. I don't buy snacks anymore--even for the kids...but I can always manage to find a carb or two somewhere. I need to stock up on some high protein snacks...and plan them into my day. I know myself and my habits...so I need to just adjust things a bit and keep myself from sabotaging my progress. Thanks for your tips... My best- Joanie

Hey My buddy for Food/Exercise Log, It was great to see you at Kim 's house and you look FANTASTIC ! Yes I am jealous of your nice tan SMILE! I guess it will be easier for you to posting our food/Exercise Log end of day to help you to stick your plan. It is easier for me to post eary for the rest of day and I do follow my plan. Stock up cold shrimps, boiled egg or cottage cheese , SF jello for before bed cramps and load of water alot at night! Make a plan for your goal to reach your exercise like three time a week for 30 min . You know me I am here to support you 100 percent and know we are not perfect. We can start new day next day after we had a bad day. I am very proud of your honest ! I know you can do it Hugs Kathy K Kathy K

Hey there Joanie, I am so glad to see you back sweetie, I missed you. It was so great to see you recently and I know we can do this. I am with you on this 100%. I am going through the same thing as you are and I could use the help too. Whatever you need I am here for you. I need to go back to the old rules too and get the scale moving again. I am getting so depressed about not being where I should be at 17months. I don't want to go back to the old ways either. You email me anytime and let me know how I can be there with you through this. We can help eachother. Love ya KimC

Hi Joanie, Here's a link: http://www.sparkpeople.com It's a great program (a lot like fitday) where you can track your food intake, it calculates your protein, calories, carbs, etc. Also keeps track of your exercise, etc. I like it better than fitday and it helps me to stay honest. There's some great articles on there too to read to keep you on track also. Glad to see you back. paula

Hi Joanie, I too am having trouble with my weight. I have gained 6 lbs since March 22nd. I joined Curves last week and exercise 4 days. I am going to give 5 days a shot. I am having the same problems you are with the grazing, stress eating and late night snacking so I am with you all the way. I also wanted to lose 20 more lbs but now it looks like it will be 26 more. Count me in. I will post my food log in the evening. See you on the board tomorrow. I wish all of Luck. Cindy

Joanie- I have been having a hard time- not with living by the rules- but just living- I have had to revert back to liquids/Isopure for now due to diarrhea and nausea- even Dr aranow is concerned- he sent me for a CT scan to r/o an obstruction or other structural problems. Before that- I was doing well- my only downfall is something I am trying ot learn to circumvent. It's the ol' one bite for the kids one bite for mommy routine- of feeding them cereal or spaghettios and sneaking bites myself. Its only a bite here and there- but its enough to set off a craving I spend the rest of the day trying to quash without hitting the snack cabinet. (located conveniently at floor level not eye level to mommy for the kids) Not that there's anything horrific in there- 100 calorie packs of crackers and such, pop tarts- those could be dangerous....and fruit snacks (way too sweet for me) I would love to be part of the email loop- as I need day to day reinforcement of what I should be doing- and you are a wealth of support and knowledge- (and we share a surgeon so we share the same rule set) Once my digestive track gets itself straightened out and I actually am back to eating- I would like to honestly share my daily intake and get feedback - constructive criticism is missing here a lot and I need it at times.

Deal me in! I like this idea Joanie. A surgical strike with a short term goal and getting back to the basics. We just went to dinner today and it really felt good to still feel my pouch fill up only half way through my meal. Sometimes it feels like nothing will fill it and that is always when I am making the wrong choices (translation : carbs). I am like you... staying relatively stable, but could easily go totally out of control at this point. I am struggling with myself, knowing what I must do to keep on track and then just not doing it. DuH! Anyway, I loved seeing your lovely picture and post on the boards again. Thanks for sharing your honesty too. It isn't easy to confess and I am sure many of us are sharing your struggles. Great idea --- when do we start????? terri
