Isopure and the nauseated WLS patient
Went to GNC and got a bunch of the Isopure Tried Grape Frost right now- it isn't too bad actually!!! I drank abou thalf a bottle (20 grams of protein) but the nausea afterwards is unbelievable- I can't do anything without getting nauseated.
I'm trying the Reglan(only 5 mg this time) to see if it helps without locking my whole face and neck up (dystonia for those of you who don't know- aka Extra pyramidal side effects also comes from Compazine - but worse with that drug and anytime I am not careful in giving a patient a Haldol or Thorazine injection...)
So if Isopure isn't light enough to not cause nausea you know I am in deep doo-doo here. I need the protein or else (dark forboding music plays in the background)
Trying not to feel discouraged and depressed......
I know this is a shot in the dark.................
Talk to Dr. A about a G tube. You might have something going in the remiment, and the G tube sould relieve the pressure and might.... just might.... take care of the problem while youare waiting for your body to learn how to regulate itself properly.
Not sure what would be lighter than isopure for a protein source. But, as Paula said also, could be allergic to the protein source still.

Hi There,
I couldn't tolerate the Whey drinks after a month of drinking them...I started getting very nauseated and I developed a very thick film on my tongue that was relentless. Went to my PCP and turns out I had an allergy to the Whey that developed. (after awhile my throat started itching each time I tried to drink it.) Soy protein & Pea protein was a not an option as I'm highly allergic to both.
The only thing that got me through was Slim Fast low sugar/low carb...it was made with milk protein. Wasn't the greatest but really helped me start feeling better & not so weak.
I hope you're on the road to recovery soon!
