Going for a CT scan

I have to go for a CT scan tonight at 5 pm I am sitting here with the barium- this is entirely gross. I hate this. I had one of these when I was a kid and I swear I have PTSD now from it. Should I hope it shows something or hope it doesn't show something? For those of you not up to date I have had nausea and diarrhea for almost 3 weeks now. My protein levels were very low the other day and Dr Aranow was concerned. I don't particularily think its anything related to the RNY- but who knows.... I do no I have had no appetite and eatin gthe past few weeks has been a real chore- who would have thought I could be anorexic???? Oh well brighter days are ahead right??? RIGHT??? somebody say something encouraging please.

B, When you find out, let me know..write me a note. I'm worried about you! Change that stinkin' thinkin' around about the barium and think of it as a thick milkshake!!! (Yeah right!) Good thoughts your way. paula

Oh God Girl, E-mail me when you get in and let me know what happened. I also went through that where I didn't want to eat. It was a phase that I went through. PRAYING all is ok. Lisa

Hey y'all thanks for the concern. Well let me preface this two ways 1) I STILL hate Barium and 2) IV Contrast is WEIRD - gave me a hot feeling head to toe as it went thru- especially setting my crotch on fire. Very strange. Oh and don't look directly at the laser. I asked the technician if I did look at the laser would it be like Lasix surgery and she said she didn't think so. Darn it. WELL the results were somewhat inconclusive for an obstruction- he found some dilitation in the jejunum (thats the small intestine that the pouch is bypassed to) which suggests to ME anyway the reason for the nausea after eating - that things are slugging up in there- and then as it passes thru getting more irritation in the lower gi causing diarrhea. Not sure how to fix this- didn't talk directly to Aranow- talked to Blancafour who is covering- (useless useless man) he said he'd talked to Aranow- and to keep with liquids over the weekend....so back to the ol' drawing board so to speak of stage 3 protein shakes (yuck) (yuck) (double triple yuck) Anybody got any of that Nectar stuff in Ice Tea flavor or lemon they want to drop off here????? My protein levels are in the toilet (uhh literally actually nothing much is getting absorbed) Maybe that would get absorbed better- but it ain't like I can pick it up at Stop and Shop....On a high note this little glitch int he road is doing WONDERS for my weight loss- I am down almost 90 pounds to a record breaking 208 as of this am., as I type my engagement band is spinning around my finger- I had to put my wedding band on the outside to keep it from falling off....time for a resizing....I put an 18/20 top on today and giggled at the fact it fit perfectly. My ass is still big- needs a 22 jean. Guess I will always "have back, junk in the trunk, boo-tay...."

Hey there. At least the scan is over. I'm glad you called Dr B useless. I had a horrid experience in the hospital with him. Hopefully, there will be a cure and you will talk to Dr A soon. I still got my junk in my trunk. My dtr looked at me today and said "Mom you have a big butt!" I do believe that is the last to go. Feel better. Linnie
